YouTube Updates: New Payment View in Studio App, Mobile Live Streaming, & Community Post Changes
Learn about the new payment view in YouTube Studio, upcoming mobile live streaming, and relaxed requirements for Community Posts.

Last November, we briefly discussed the new view in the YouTube Studio app regarding past and upcoming payments. At the time, the system was only available for creators who are paid out in US dollars. Now, the system is being rolled out gradually to all creators, or rather, all YouTube partners. I haven’t seen the new system on the channels we manage yet, but I have brought along the official mockup from the YouTube team showing what it will look like. I saw that Mr. Bomelli had commented under the Community Post on creators.de, and yes, all YouTube partners includes partners in Switzerland as well. That means we’re all very well covered here.
Furthermore, since we’re talking about payments, there’s an upcoming reward campaign for creators where they’ll receive a small coupon for a snack. We’ve already seen this in the UK; at the Grex supermarket chain, creators received a hot dog. There will be a campaign in YouTube Studio as well as an info box in the dashboard and an email about it. If you receive something like this, it’s not a scam—you can safely redeem it, as it’s actually intended.
Moving on to comments: In the mobile realm, there’s an interesting story, and I can already reveal that admissions for mobile live streaming are in development or on the roadmap. Accordingly, we can assume with good conscience that this will also be implemented. There isn’t an exact date yet, of course, but make sure to subscribe to this channel so you’re always well informed and get such news first.
Lastly, the requirements for Community Posts are being further reduced. Previously, it was necessary to have the so-called advanced features enabled for the channel. Now, this is being relaxed even further, as the advanced features are no longer decisive; all you need is to not have an active community guideline strike. In principle, I’m always in favor of providing more features for creators, but here, the bar is set very low with “not having a strike.” I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this change, as malicious users could take advantage of it and lead to a flood of low-quality Community Posts.
But that’s it for today. We’ll see each other again on Monday, as there will be a special episode on the topic of A/B testing or YouTube Test and Compare. More on that on Monday. Thank you very much for tuning in! If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments, and otherwise, see you until then. Take care and keep going!
