A/B Testing & Edit with AI are HERE | Made on YouTube Follow-Up
Just a few days ago, we discussed all the announcements from the Made on YouTube event. If you haven't watched those videos yet, you can find them in the description below.
Faster Than Expected: YouTube’s New Feature Rollouts
Following the recent Made on YouTube event, many creators have been keeping a close eye on the announced timelines for new tools and features. While YouTube initially provided conservative estimates regarding when these updates would reach the community, it has become clear that the rollout is progressing much faster than anticipated.
For creators looking to optimize their content and streamline their workflow, several high-impact tools are already beginning to appear in accounts. Here is a detailed look at the current status of these features and what you need to check for on your own channel.
A/B Testing for Titles and Thumbnails
Perhaps the most significant update is the arrival of A/B testing for titles and thumbnails. While the official word was that this feature would be available by the end of the year, it has already begun rolling out to some users, including the kw.media channel.
A/B testing is one of the most powerful optimization tools a creator can have because it removes the guesswork from “packaging”—the combination of the title and thumbnail that convinces a viewer to click. Instead of relying on intuition or third-party tools, creators can now test different versions of their packaging directly within the platform to see which performs better based on actual viewer data.
Because this rollout is happening ahead of schedule, we recommend that you check your YouTube Studio settings immediately and keep a close eye on your dashboard over the coming days to see if the feature has been enabled for your account.
AI-Powered Editing for Shorts
YouTube is also accelerating the deployment of AI editing for Shorts. Although the official timeline suggested a rollout in the “coming weeks,” the feature is already live for approximately 1% of eligible creators.
This limited release is a classic “soft launch.” By releasing the tool to a tiny fraction of the user base first, YouTube can identify and fix early bugs and stability issues before pushing the update to millions of other creators. If you are among the lucky few in this initial phase, you will find these AI tools integrated into the Shorts creation tools and the dedicated YouTube Create app.
Currently, this rollout is focused on several specific regions, including:
- United States
- Brazil
- Canada
- Australia
- United Kingdom
Expanding AI Voiceover Capabilities
Alongside the editing tools, the new AI voiceover feature is also making its way into the ecosystem. At this stage, the tool’s capabilities are focused on two primary languages: English and Hindi.
It is important to note a current limitation regarding accessibility: the AI voiceover feature is only available within the creator app for now. While it may not be available across all YouTube interfaces yet, its presence in the app serves as a clear indicator that YouTube is moving quickly toward a broader integration of generative AI audio tools.
Community Feedback and Next Steps
The rapid pace of these updates has naturally led to many questions from the creator community. To ensure these concerns are addressed accurately, user questions and feedback from recent discussions have been forwarded directly to YouTube Community managers and, in some cases, straight to the product managers responsible for specific features.
For those seeking clarity on how these new tools work or when they will be available in other regions, a dedicated FAQ video is currently in development to provide direct answers from the platform’s developers.
In the meantime, creators are encouraged to explore their channel settings and the YouTube Create app to see which of these features have been activated for them. As these tools move from soft launch to general availability, staying updated on the specific requirements for “eligible creators” will be key to leveraging these AI and optimization advancements.

Just a few days ago, we discussed all the announcements from the Made on YouTube event. If you haven’t watched those videos yet, you can find them in the description below. There’s some great content there. It seems that some of the timelines YouTube provided were more conservative than expected. Things are progressing much faster than anticipated. So, this is a follow-up on some of the features currently being rolled out.
Let’s start with the big one: A/B testing for titles and thumbnails. YouTube mentioned this would be available by the end of the year, but it started rolling out on our kw.media channel yesterday. That means you should check your channels now and in the coming days to see if you have access. This is one of the most powerful optimization tools we’ve ever received, and it’s arriving sooner than expected.
Next up, AI editing for Shorts. The official timeline indicated it would be available in the coming weeks, but we’ve confirmed that it has already started rolling out to approximately 1% of eligible creators. This is a classic soft launch to identify and fix any early bugs. The feature will be accessible in the Shorts creation tools and the YouTube Create app in several countries, including the US, Brazil, Canada, Australia, and the UK.
The AI voiceover feature within the tool is currently limited to English and Hindi, as announced, and is only available in the creator app for now. However, it’s a clear indication that things are moving forward.
Finally, a quick update for those who left comments and questions on our previous videos. I’ve already forwarded your questions to my contacts, and if I have a direct line to the product manager for a specific feature, it went straight to them. Otherwise, it was sent through the YouTube Community managers. We’re working on getting you some answers, so an FAQ video will be coming soon. If you have more questions about the features announced at the Made on YouTube event, feel free to leave them in the comments below.
On that note, if you work at YouTube and are watching this, my Discord DMs and email are always open. We’re aiming to understand these tools better, and the best way to do that is by speaking directly with the developers.
That concludes this week’s YouTube news. Check your channels for the new features, and don’t forget to subscribe and click the bell to stay updated on future YouTube videos.
