How to Change Your YouTube Handle on Desktop

Updating your handle is a straightforward process managed through the backend of your channel. Follow these steps to change your identifier:

1. Access YouTube Studio: Navigate to studio.youtube.com and sign in to your account.
2. Open Customization: On the left-hand sidebar menu, locate and click on the Customization tab.
3. Navigate to Basic Info: Once inside the customization menu, click on the Basic info tab at the top of the page.
4. Edit Your Handle: You will see a field dedicated to your handle. Delete the existing text and enter a new, readable name that represents you or your brand.
5. Save Changes: After entering your new handle, click Publish to make the change live across the platform.

When choosing a new handle, YouTube enforces specific formatting rules. To ensure your new handle is accepted, keep the following guidelines in mind:

Your handle must be between 3 and 30 characters long. You are permitted to use:

• Dots
