Moin, my name is Martin. It’s January 21, 2023, YouTube Patch Day 9, and we’re talking about great YouTube features. Today, I have two experiments running that I want to share with you. Firstly: Location Tagging during upload for Shorts on mobile devices. This means that if you’re at the pool, the cinema, or a cool café and want to share that with your followers, you can now include your location. Remember to turn this feature off when you’re at home creating content. Of course, in Germany, there’s a legal obligation to provide contact information, but not everyone needs to know where you record your Shorts, right? I’ll keep you updated via the Community if this feature is enabled by default or not. It’s definitely worth subscribing to the channel as there’s new YouTube news every week.

Moving on to the next experiment: A very small percentage of Creator phones are affected by this. Of course, you’re all experienced Creators and might not use Community Posts, but for those who do, there’s now more transparency regarding policy violations. There will be a timestamp and an explanation of which policy was violated, as well as a step-by-step guide on how to handle the specific video and what further actions are possible and required. I think this is essentially a good thing. As you know, I’m a big advocate for transparency, so I believe this is another step in the right direction. We’ve already seen timestamps provided for some demonetization reasons, and I think it’s positive that YouTube is gradually moving in this direction.
