What Exactly Is Short Sampling? #Shorts
Explains how Creators can enable or disable the sampling of their videos for Shorts and what happens to existing sampled Shorts.

As a Creator, you have the option to allow your viewers to sample your videos. By default, this permission is enabled for all your videos. If you want to change this setting, go to your Studio, select the video in question, and scroll down until you find the appropriate setting. Alternatively, you can also select multiple videos in the YouTube Studio, click on “Edit,” and then “Content usage for Shorts.” If you decide that a video should no longer be sampled, existing Shorts that sample the video will be automatically muted and deleted after 30 days.
