REUSED CONTENT! Monetization disabled! What now?
Explains what reused content means for YouTube monetization and what creators can do after monetization has been disabled.
Transcript
If YouTube disabled monetization on your channel because of reused content, the first thing to do is stay calm and read the policy carefully. Reused content usually means that YouTube does not see enough original value, commentary, editing, or transformation in the videos.
Look through your channel and identify videos that rely too heavily on other people’s material, repeated clips, compilations, or content that is only lightly changed. Remove or rework anything that does not clearly show your own creative input.
When you appeal or reapply, explain what makes your content original. Show your process, your script, your editing, your commentary, or the way you transform the source material. YouTube needs to understand that viewers are coming for your contribution, not just for reused clips.
Going forward, make sure every video has a clear original angle. Add context, analysis, narration, editing, or production value that only you provide. That gives your channel a much better chance of meeting the monetization policies again.
