Moin! My name is Martin, it’s February 4th, 2023, and there are some YouTube updates we’re going to discuss today. Let’s start with YouTube Live: There’s been a small UI update rolled out, where different users are displayed in different colors. This update is not yet available for all accounts, but it definitely looks very sleek and I hope it will be rolled out soon.

Next up is cooperative streaming: This feature has been rolled out for all channels with more than 50 subscribers, two days ago. It’s a mobile-only feature, but we’ve told YouTube that we’d also like to see it on desktop so we can have one-on-one conversations with different creators. The invitation works simply via a link, and I find it a very pleasant way to stream. We’ve already had the opportunity to test it here on this channel, so stay tuned and I’ll keep you updated as soon as it’s available.

I can also reveal: The first quarter will be a very interesting quarter for YouTube Live. If you don’t want to miss out, feel free to subscribe to the channel and share it with your streaming colleagues who should all be moving to YouTube Live soon. I say it’s going to be interesting, very interesting!

The Shorts RPM results are also slowly coming in. Of course, we need to keep in mind that it’s only February 4th, so maybe two days of data, but we can already draw some conclusions. Let’s take those with a grain of salt. If you already have enough data because you have a very large channel that also focuses on Shorts, please leave your RPM in the comments so we have a comparison point and can see which direction this is heading.

At the end of the month, we’ll also do a little financial check-in with some of the channels we manage and see which direction everything has developed.
