Analyze audio

Audio Analyzer

Analyze local audio directly in your browser: visualize waveforms and spectrograms, then inspect levels, loudness, and the frequency spectrum.

Your audio stays local and is analyzed entirely in your browser.

Choose an audio file to start the analysis.

Tool description

What this tool does

Audio Analyzer reveals the structure of an audio file so you can inspect its timing and sound characteristics. It combines a waveform, spectrogram, and frequency spectrum with measurements for peak level, RMS, dynamic range, and estimated integrated loudness. Those measurements can cover the complete file or a time and frequency region that you select in the visualizations.

Choose a local audio file and analysis starts automatically after the browser decodes it. Drag across the waveform or spectrogram to create a selection, then move the region or adjust its edges. The time and frequency readouts and level measurements update for that selection. A reset control restores the full-file view whenever you want to begin again.

The file picker accepts WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AAC, AIFF, Opus, WebM, and other audio formats. Whether a particular file can be decoded depends on the audio support in your browser. After loading succeeds, the tool also reports the file size, duration, sample rate, and channel count before you inspect individual regions in more detail.

The browser processes the audio with its built-in audio and canvas capabilities. Analysis does not require uploading the selected file to a server, so the file remains on your device. This is useful for recordings you would rather not send to an external analysis service. Performance and format compatibility ultimately depend on your browser and device.
